Easter 2004
Our friends the Gaylords arrived from Seattle on Saturday night. Grace had been counting down the days for many months.
We met them at the airport, then it was home to bed.
Hunting for eggs on Easter morning. Spot the chocolate egg in the last
photo.
The Gedyes Sr. came over for a sunny Easter breakfast.

Ferry trip to Circular Quay, and then to Manly.
"I didn't mean to get my clothes wet. It was an accident!" Dry pants were
then purchased.
Monday was our big day at the Royal Easter Show. The girls got their
priorities straight by going straight for the Show Bag catalogs.

First we saw the animals, then the district displays, and Weston bought a
fine hat.
Some of us were amazed by the fruit cakes, others by the magic pens.
Very soon it was time to meet Grandma for the main event of the day. She had
invited Grace to come with her into the ring and present the 25th annual
Lillaine A. Gedye Award for the Best Arabian Mare under Saddle. Everyone was
turned out in their best outfit.
We watched the mares do their workouts while a pre-recorded interview with
Grandma played over the loudspeaker. Special mention was made of the
granddaughter who had come all the way from Seattle to present the prize.
The winner was the same man who had won for the last two years, but his mare was
rather jumpy. Just putting the ribbon on him was quite an effort. As we left
the arena, the played the song Graceland in honor of Grace.

We had some lunch then all the kids did the Bungee Trampoline. Grace did
double somersaults.
The boys watching the wood chopping; the horrible hall of show bags; the
show at night; Grace's night shot.
Tuesday we explored the city. Under a tree at Hyde Park Barracks, then near
the Pyrmont Bridge outside the Aquarium.
