Weekend on San Juan Island
May 2003

Our friends David, Hillary, and Ella invited us up for Mother's Day weekend at their house on San Juan.

Fun on the ferry

Saturday morning Dance Party

Exploring for treasures on the beach at Roche Harbor

On Saturday afternoon we went on their boat to Reid Harbor on Stuart Island The weather was beautiful and the helm was true.

There's more than one way to get below decks quickly.

Grace's "Sushi Art" from found objects.

Rodin in rubber boots.

Back on the boat after a short but scenic hike on the island.

Same name, same shoes, same hat. Spooky.

Back at Roche Harbor, a convention of Grand Banks filled the dock.

Sunday morning, and after a Mother's Day breakfast that wasn't half bad, Hillary created a poetic treasure hunt for the girls...

Fun with bouncy balloons.

The mothers had a walk in the Roche Harbor sculpture garden, but all too soon it was time to head to the ferry.

Everybody dozed as we chugged back to Anacortes.

Thank you Hillary, David, and Ella for a weekend full of wonderful memories.
